Van Rental Bangkok Airport

If you’re traveling in a group and want to be picked up from, or brought to, the airport, we’re happy to service you. Both Suvarnabhumi (BKK) and Don Mueang (DMK) domestic and international airport transfers cost 1,200 THB (Thai Baht) (around 35 USD or 32 Euro) one way with a standard van, or more with luxury vans.

Our drivers will arrange airport pick up or drop off, or if you prefer a personal tour guide can also be arranged and accompany you around Suvarnabhumi airport or Don Mueang airport.

Available vans

The most commonly used vans in Bangkok are Toyota Commuter, Toyota Ventury, Toyota Hiace, Toyota Vellfire, Suyuki APV, Toyota Alphard, Lexus LM.

Minivan All Around Thailand

Bangkok-Pattaya Van Rental

A one-way trip in a private van from Bangkok to Pattaya costs 3,000 Baht (around 85 USD or 79 Euro), and takes around 2 hours (depending on traffic conditions).

Bangkok to Safari World

If you’d like to visit Safari World in the outskirts of Bangkok (and drive with the van through the safari area where you can see wild animals, including tigers, lions, bears, giraffes, hippos, and many other animals), the day trip rate is 3,000 Baht (around 85 USD or 79 Euro), not including tickets.

Bangkok to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

A daytrip from Bangkok to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and back costs 3,500 Baht (around 102 USD or 92 Euro).

Bangkok to Chiang Mai

We generally do not recommend renting a van from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, as there are better ways to travel this route: By airplane or train (especially the night train can make for a great travel experience, and they also offer private sleeping cabins).

Should you want to travel there by van for other reasons though, we’ll of course be happy to service you. The most common reason is typically that you’d like to make multiple stops along the way to explore other places, like Ayutthaya, Sukhothai national parks, ancient temples, and so on. Rather than purchasing multiple bus or train tickets and schlepping your belongings from the station to your accommodation, you can travel in the comfort of your own van. For a multi-day trip like this, please request a custom itinerary.

But if you need a ball-park number, a straight one-way trip with a private van costs around 15,000 Baht (around 433 USD, or 393 Euro), and a round trip around 20,700 Baht (around 606 USD, or 550 Euro).

How much does it cost to rent a van in Thailand?

Renting a van in Bangkok costs between 1,100 Baht (around 32 USD, or 29 Euro) for a budget airport van transfer to 35,000 Baht (around 1009 USD, or 917 Euro) for a full-day top-of-the-line luxury car, with many options in between.

A full day Bangkok standard van rental (typically 8 to 10 hours) costs around 3,000 Baht (around 87 USD or 79 Euro).

If you want to do a day trip from Bangkok to Samut Prakan where the Ancient City, a huge outdoor museum that features replicas of historical temples, houses and palaces from different regions in Thailand, or the Erawan Museum are located, the cost is typically around 1,600 Baht (around 47 USD or 42 Euros).

A trip to Ayutthaya costs around 4,000 Baht (115 USD or 105 Euro).

Van rental prices to Hua Hin tend to vary, please inquire.

How many people can ride in a van?

This depends on the type of van and your preferred level of comfort. We have everything from 5-seater vans to 15-seater vans, although if you’re a group of 15, we generally do not recommend squeezing all of you into one van. Our recommended maximum passenger count per van is 12 to allow for ample space.

Why rent a van with driver?

Convenience and Comfort

One of the primary advantages of renting a van with a driver in Bangkok is the unparalleled convenience and comfort it offers. Clients can enjoy door-to-door service, avoiding the complexities of public transport or the challenges of self-driving in a busy city, trying to wave a cab, or waiting for a Grab driver (which is a service similar to Uber), where you never can be certain if a driver will be available when you need it, and how long it takes them to arrive at your place to pick you up. The spacious interiors of the vans ensure a comfortable journey, especially beneficial for groups or families traveling with children or carrying significant luggage.

Local Knowledge and Language Skills of Drivers

Having a driver with local knowledge is an invaluable asset in Bangkok. Drivers familiar with the city can navigate efficiently, avoiding traffic jams and finding the quickest routes. The best ones also often serve as informal guides, offering insights into local culture, suggesting must-visit spots, and helping with language barriers. (If this is a priority for you, you might also want to consider booking a personal tour guide to accompany you.) This local expertise enhances the overall travel experience, making it more authentic and enjoyable.

Safety and Navigation through Bangkok’s Traffic

Safety is a paramount concern in the often hectic and unpredictable traffic of Bangkok. Professional drivers are adept at maneuvering through the city’s streets, whether it be downtown or in the outskirts, with skill and safety. They are trained to handle various traffic situations, ensuring a safe journey. Moreover, the stress of navigating and understanding local driving laws and customs is entirely offloaded from the client to the driver, making for a more relaxed and enjoyable trip.

What payment methods are available?

You can pay via Bank transfer, Paypal, credit card, or QR code, or cash in Thai baht directly to the driver (a deposit is required in advance though).

Where can I find the best deals for van rental in Bangkok?

Consider that the best deal is not always just the sticker price. Some companies might offer seemingly cheap services, but then add fuel surcharges, or worse, cut cost in other ways (e.g. employing drivers with a bad record, drivers who are not trained in emergency procedures (such as handling vehicle breakdowns or accidents), not maintaining their vehicles properly (e.g. vans with missing seat belts are surprisingly common).

Make sure to consider the overall value provided, including vehicle quality, driver professionalism, and included amenities, rather than just the base price.

Can I rent a van and drive it myself?

We do not offer self-drive vans for rent without a driver, but if that’s what you’re looking for there are several car rental companies where you just need an international driving license and a credit card.

Be aware that Thais have a different style of driving than the US and European countries, and navigating around Bangkok can be challenging if you’re not accustomed to Bangkok traffic.

What’s your cancellation policy?

We require a non-refundable deposit, but generally try to be flexible. If you need to reschedule, we’ll try to accommodate. Please understand that we’re not able to completely refund cancelled bookings though since the drivers rely on bookings to make a living for themselves and their families.

Changes to booking details (like dates, vehicle type, or route) are usually accommodated, but may incur additional charges depending on the nature of the change and the notice given.
